Effective March 22, 2021, MLabs will discontinue G-6-PD, Quantitative (G6PDQ), Quantitative, Erythrocytes (MMLR). The recommended alternative test is Glucose 6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase Enzyme Activity, Blood (MMLR) per Mayo Medical Laboratories.

 

Collection Instructions: Collect 6 mL of whole blood in a ACD-B solution vacutainer or Lavender top EDTA vacutainer. Ship the whole blood refrigerated. 

 

Methodology:  Kinetic Spectrophotometry

 

Test Analysis: Mon-Sun, 1 day

 

Reference Range:        

 

≥ 12 months of age 8.0 - 11.9 U/g Hb

 

Reference range has not been established for ages < 12 months.
