Effective April 22, 2020, MLabs will forward all Soluable Transferrin Receptor sTfR Serum (STRF) testing to ARUP due to a reagent issue at Mayo Medical Laboratories.

Collection instructions:  Collect approximately 2 mL of whole blood in a EDTA lavender top or heparin green top vacutainer. Centrifuge and aliquot a minimum of 1 mL of plasma into a plastic vial. Ship the specimen to MLabs refrigerated.

 

Methodology:  Quantitative Immunoturbidimetry

 

Analytic Time:  2-5 days

 

Reference Range:  Male - 18 years & older: 2.2-5.0 mg/L
  Female - 18 years & older: 1.9-4.4 mg/L
