Effective March 3, 2020, Mucopolysaccharides Screen, Urine (MPSSC) will become obsolete and replaced by Mucopolysaccharides Quantitative, Random, Urine (XXXX) per Mayo Medical Laboratories.

 

Collection Instructions: Patient Preparation: Do not administer low-molecular weight heparin prior to collection. Collect approximately 3 mL of random urine preferably in the early morning. Aliquot the specimen in a 5 mL plastic urine tube. Ship the specimen refrigerated.

 

Methodology: Liquid Chromatography – Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS)
