Effective November 18, 2019 MLabs will offer Varicella zoster virus DNA by PCR, Quantitative, CSF, CSFVZ testing. This test is currently sent to a referral laboratory.

Collection Instructions: Collect a minimum of 0.5 mL of CSF fluid in a plastic stile container and ship refrigerated to MLabs within 14 days of collection.

Methodology: Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)

Set Up: Daily  Analytic Time: 2 - 5 Days
