Establish the presence of Candida or other yeast.
No yeast isolated.

Specimen Requirements
Collect fluids or tissue, use sterile tube. Send Eswab transport, available from MSC 936-6077, University Hospital. Specify current antibiotic or antifungal therapy and clinical diagnosis. For optimum recovery, send directly to the Microbiology Laboratory.
Send Eswab transport, available from MLabs. For optimum recovery, send immediately. If specimen must be stored, refrigerate immediately after specimen collection. May be refrigerated up to 24 hrs. Indicate specimen source, collection date/time, current antibiotic or antifungal therapy, and clinical diagnosis. If an unacceptable specimen is received, the client will be notified and another specimen will be requested before disposal of the specimen.
