Chemiluminescence Immunoassay (immunoenzymatic)
Aid in detection and confirmation of autoimmune thyroiditis and to distinguish from other causes of goiter, such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis and juvenile lymphocytic thyroiditis. A negative test for thyroid peroxidase antibodies (ATPO) and thyroglobulin antibodies essentially rules out a diagnosis of Hashimoto's thyroiditis.

Collect specimen in SST tube. Centrifuge, aliquot serum into a plastic vial and refrigerate. Store refrigerated up to 48 hours. Longer storage requires freezing at -20 degrees C.
