Specimen Requirements

Collection Onsite

Place worm in container with formalin diluted to 2 - 5%. Higher concentrations of formalin may cause Ascaris to rupture.

Collection Offsite

Place worm in container with formalin diluted to 2 - 5%. Higher concentrations of fomalin may cause Ascaris to rupture. If an unacceptable specimen is received, the client will be notified before disposal of the original specimen.
