Test Usage

Detection of Trichomonas in female vagina, urethra, cervix and endocervix specimens.

Reference Range

No Trichomonas vaginalis antigen detected.

Specimen Requirements

Collection Offsite

Collect swab specimen of cervix, endocervix, vagina (posterior fornix) or urethra using dacron or rayon swab with an aluminum or plastic shaft; do not use cotton or wooden handled swab. Place swab in aerobic transport. Store at room temperature and send to MLabs within 24 hours of collection. Products containing iodine and vaginal lubricants may interfere with this test.
