Specimen Requirements
Collection Instructions

Collect specimen from throat or nasopharynx and place in ESwab. When taking throat specimen, swab both tonsillar pillars and oropharynx. Store at room temperature and send within 24 hours of collection. Indicate specimen source and collection date/time. If an unacceptable specimen is received, the client will be notified and another specimen will be requested before disposal of the specimen.

Additional Information

If the Beta Strep Group A by Immunoassay (SIA) is negative, the Beta Strep Group A Culture (SSN) will be performed at an additional charge. By ordering this test the clinician acknowledges that additional reflex testing will be performed and billed at a separate additional charge if indicated.
