Indirect Fluorescent Antibody (IFA)
<1:16 antibody not detected; 1:16 equivocal, repeat in 3-4 weeks; >1:32 antibody detected

Specimen Requirements
Tube MUST be labeled with whether specimen is acute or convalescent. Send both acute and convalescent sera (taken 10 - 14 days after the acute serum sample).
Collect specimen in red top or SST tube. Centrifuge, aliquot serum into a plastic vial, and refrigerate or freeze. Label as acute or convalescent.
