Complement Fixation (CF)

Test Usage

Detectable titers to enteroviruses, particularly titers >1:32, typically indicate recent infection. Although there is considerable cross-reactivity among enteroviruses, the highest titer is usually associated with the infecting serotype.

Collection

Collect specimen in a red top or SST tube. Centrifuge, aliquot serum into a plastic vial and refrigerate.
