Test Overview
Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)
Detection of Mumps RNA is indicative of infection with Mumps virus.
No virus detected.
* Reference ranges may change over time. Please refer to the original patient report when evaluating results.
A sample from which Mumps RNA is not detected does not preclude diagnosis of Mumps viral infection. The virus may be present at levels below the limits of detection for this assay or inhibitors of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) may be present.
