Specimen Requirements

Collection Onsite

Patient should be fasting 10-12 hours. Patient should not be administered antacid medication or medications affecting intestinal motility, if possible for at least 48 hours prior to collection.

Collection Offsite

Collect specimen in Red, SST or lavender top tube from a fasting patient. Centrifuge, aliquot plasma into a plastic vial, and freeze immediately.
