Test Usage

Allergy Testing. The multiallergen IgE antibody test, combined with measurement of IgE in serum, is a very sensitive first-order test for allergic disease.

Collection Instructions

Collect specimen in an SST or red top tube. Centrifuge, aliquot serum into a plastic vial and refrigerate for up to 1 week or freeze for longer storage. The desired allergen(s) must be specified; see the MLabs Allergen Requisition availalble online at http://mlabs.umich.edu/files/pdfs/REQ-mlabs_allergen_req.pdf or contact the MLabs Client Services Center for a listing of available allergens.
