Test Usage

Determine glucose level when patient is undergoing ascorbic acid therapy, monitor insulin therapy, evaluate carbohydrate metabolism.

Reference Range

American Diabetes Association Reference Ranges:
Fasting Glucose: <110 mg/dl (Normal); 110 - 126 mg/dl (Impaired); >=126 mg/dl (Provisional Diagnosis)
Random Glucose: >= 200 mg/dl (Provisional Diagnosis)
Glucose Tolerance Test, 75g load, 2 hr: <140 mg/dl (Normal); 140 - 200 mg/dl (Impaired); >=200 mg/dl (Provisional Diagnosis)
Gestational Diabetes, 50 g load, 1 hr: <140 mg/dl
Gestational Diabetes, 100 g load: Fasting <95 mg/dl; 1 hr <180 mg/dl; 2 hr <155 mg/dl; 3 hr <140 mg/dl.
