Test Usage

To establish the presence of primary or metastatic neoplasm and to aid in the diagnosis of certain infections such as Herpes virus, Candida, and certain benign conditions such as Barrett's esophagus.

Interpretive report provided.

Specimen Requirements

Collection Onsite

Label a clean, leakproof, rigid container with the patient's last name, first name and registration number (or other second unique patient identifier). Place fresh specimen into the container; do not add fixative. Submit with an appropriately completed requisition, including pertinent patient history. Deliver immediately to Specimen Processing or to the Cytopathology Laboratory during laboratory hours. Refrigerate specimens that cannot be delivered during laboratory hours and deliver as soon as possible the following work day. Do not allow specimen to freeze.

Collection Offsite
