Chemiluminescent Immunoassay

Test Usage

In high titer, marker antibody for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Monitor clinical course and response to treatments, especially in patients with nephritis. Anti-dsDNA titers do not correlate with disease activity in all patients.

Reference Range

<27 IU/mL (Negative); 27 - 35 IU/mL (Borderline Positive); >=36 IU/mL (Positive).

Specimen Requirements

Collection Onsite

Collect specimen in SST tube.

Collection Offsite

Collect specimen in an SST tube. Centrifuge, aliquot serum into a plastic tube and refrigerate for up to 7 days or freeze for longer storage.
