Test Overview
Chemiluminescent Immunoassay (CLIA)
Evaluation of patients with possible myocardial infarction. Following myocardial infarction, CK-MB levels generally start to rise after 4-6 hours, peak around 20 hours, and return to normal by 48 hours. Thrombolytic therapy can shorten these times considerably.
MB Isoenzyme: 0 - 4.9 ng/mL (if total CK <500 IU/L) or 0.0 - 1.0% (if total CK >=500 IU/L).
* Reference ranges may change over time. Please refer to the original patient report when evaluating results.
