Test Usage

The AH50 assay is a useful screening tool for homozygous deficiencies of Alternative Pathway components including C3, factor I, factor B, properdin, factor H and factor D.

Specimen Requirements

Collection Onsite

Collect specimen in a red top tube from a fasting patient do not use SST tube. Send to Specimen Perocessing in a green bag. Must be spun within 30 minutes.

Collection Offsite

Collect specimen in a red top tube from a fasting patient; do not use SST tube. Centrifuge, aliquot serum into a plastic vial and freeze within 30 minutes.
