Specimen Requirements
Collection Instructions
Collect specimen in an SST or red top tube from a fasting patient (8 hour fast). Centrifuge, aliquot serum into a plastic vial within 2 hours of collection, and refrigerate.
Special Handling
Fasting specimen.
Contraindications
This test should not be ordered for patients receiving bile acid therapy.
