An aid in monitoring antiresorptive therapies (eg, bisphosphonates and hormone replacement therapy) in postmenopausal women treated for osteoporosis and individuals diagnosed with osteopenia. An adjunct in the diagnosis of medical conditions associated with increased bone turnover

MALES: <18 yrs: not established; 18-30 yrs: 120 - 946 pg/mL; 31-50 yrs: 93 - 630 pg/mL; 51-70 yrs: 35 - 836 pg/mL; >70 yrs: not established. FEMALES: <18 yrs: not established; Premenopausal: 25 - 573 pg/mL; Postmenopausal: 104 - 1008 pg/mL.

Collect specimen in an SST or red top tube from a fasting patient. Centrifuge, aliquot serum into a plastic vial and freeze (preferred) or refrigerate up to 3 days.
