Immunofluorescence Assay (IFA)

Test Usage

Rapid diagnosis of Bartonella infection. Infection with Bartonella henselae has been associated with cat scratch disease, bacillary angiomatosis, peliosis hepatitis, and endocarditis. Infection with Bartonella quintana has been associated with trench fever, bacillary angiomatosis, and endocarditis.

Reference Range

IgG: <1:128, IgM: <1:20

Specimen Requirements

Collection Onsite

Collect specimen in red top or SST tube.

Collection Offsite

Collect specimen in red top or SST tube. Centrifuge, aliquot serum into a plastic vial and refrigerate (preferred) or freeze.
