Specimen Requirements

Collection Onsite

Collect specimen in SST tube. HEp-2 ANA testing is performed as the initial ANA screening test on adult and pediatric patients. This tissue ANA test is performed on pediatric patients less than 18 years of age who have a positive HEp-2 ANA. If the tissue ANA screen is positive, a titer will be performed at an additonal charge.

Collection Offsite

Collect specimen in SST tube. Centrifuge, aliquot serum into a plastic vial and refrigerate up to 3 days. This test is performed on pediatric patients less than 18 years of age with a positive HEp-2 ANA.
