To monitor proper dosage during salicylate therapy. To aid in the evaluation of patients with possible salicylate intoxication.

Reference Range *

Therapeutic: 2 - 29 mg/dL; Critical Value: >30 mg/dL; Lethal Level: >70 mg/dL.

Collect specimen in an SST tube. Centrifuge, aliquot serum into a plastic vial, and refrigerate.
