Test Usage

Establish presence of antibody to Coccidioides.

Reference Range *

Complement Fixation: Negative. If positive, results are titered. Immunodiffusion: Negative.

Test Limitations

Antibodies (both IgM and IgG) may persist after the infection has resolved.

Collection Instructions

Collect specimen in a red top or SST tube. Centrifuge, aliquot serum into a plastic vial and refrigerate. CSF is also acceptable.

1.8 mL serum or 2.0 mL CSF
Minimum Volume
1.2 mL serum or 1.2 mL CSF
