The MLabs Chemistry Core Laboratory began offering a Fentanyl, Urine, Qualitative Screen by Immunoassay effective June 13, 2023. The ARK™ Fentanyl II Immunoassay will be performed on Roche Cobas C502 and is intended for the qualitative detection of fentanyl in human urine at a cutoff concentration of 1.0 ng/mL. Fentanyl screening by immunoassay may be performed to monitor compliance in patients with Fentanyl prescription (i.e., Actiq^®, Duragesic^®, and Sublimaze^®), or to identify fentanyl exposure from unprescribed drugs. The immunoassay screen detects fentanyl, norfentanyl and select fentanyl analogs. Presumptive positive results obtained by immunoassay can be confirmed and quantified by LC-MS/MS (order code UFENL) if desired.

 

Collection Instructions: Collect random urine specimen. Send 5 mL (minimum 1 mL) in a plastic container; refrigerate.
