The preferred specimen transport temperature for Mayo Clinic Laboratories Echinococcus Antibody, IgG, assay will be updated from Refrigerated to Frozen effective April 28, 2023. Refrigerated specimens will be accepted and are stable for 14 days from specimen collection.

Collection Instructions: Collect specimen in an SST or red top tube. Centrifuge, aliquot 0.5 mL (minimum 0.4 mL) of serum into a plastic vial and freeze (preferred) or refrigerate up to 14 days.
